I Love A Golden Country

I love a golden country,
Though sunburnt some might say.
Yes, the land is arid,
But golden in every way.

I love my golden country,
A country girt by sea.
I love it’s hills and mountains,
It’s plains and golden trees.

I love my golden country,
It’s heart of desert sand;
I love it from it’s humid forrest
To it’s barren land.

I love a golden country,
Though sunburnt it may be,
It’s golden fields, it’s golden sun—
It’s a golden land I see.

I love my golden country,
It’s blue sky overhead.
I love our Southern stars,
And watching that sun set.

I love my golden country,
Through fire, flood and drought,
Here my heart will always stay,
Of that I have no doubt.

I love a golden country,
Sunburnt as it may be.
I look out across these fields and know,
It’s the golden land for me.
